Roeder Design and Oakman Building Company’s New Home Features Ram Windows
Austin, Texas
The Ruth Avenue Residence recently received a new lease on life for a growing family in central Austin. The couple fell in love with the beautiful large corner lot with several magnificent trees and became determined to transform the original yet neglected 1950’s ranch home. Taken down to studs, the home was doubled in size to provide the needed space. The greatest transformation, however, was the experience within the home. While before the home was dim and confined, the renovation is airy and bright, yet warm and conducive for family interaction. Little artificial light is required during the daytime due to the reflection of natural light allowed in through the expansive RAM windows that are selectively placed to maximize the views of the property. The black windows contrast to the white paint throughout, and the thin window profiles allow the “farmhouse” style to be brought into the modern era.
