RAM Industries (‘RAM’) was founded in 1978 by Robert A. Miller, who chose the name to match the initials of his name. At the time, RAM was operating strictly as a distributor for Mayfair Windows. As RAM grew, necessitating a move to a larger facility, the Company began to manufacture its own line of aluminum windows. Within several years, the manufacturing revenue eclipsed the distribution business.
In 1990, RAM’s growth story continued with the acquisition of Louver Lock Windows. Mr. Miller retired in the early 2000s and his son, Rob Miller, began managing the Company. Rob quickly implemented changes in the Company that still are in place today.
In 2002, RAM switched to thermally broken window frames and double-pane glass, which were necessary to meet evolving energy codes. In 2004, RAM added a key product line for the high-end residential segment when the Company began distributing sliding door and wall systems.
In November 2007, Tim Payton (President and CEO) purchased the assets from the Miller family with the goal of creating a platform for expanding the product lines, entering into new market segments and focusing on supplying whole house packages with high quality window and door products.
RAM leadership positioned the Company as a “one-stop provider of every opening on the project.” Making this change has allowed Ram Windows to be committed to its good customers into additional projects anywhere throughout the country. RAM is flexible enough to be competitive with a high-end builder to the moderate price point homes and everywhere in between.
Today, RAM continues to explore ways to meet customer expectations whether that is through the addition of high quality manufacturers such as MI, La Cantina, Sierra Pacific and Hy-Lite; or continuous improvement and product innovation through its own RAM suite of windows. RAM has evolved into THE MARKET LEADER of residential and commercial openings.
