RAM Windows & Doors was founded in 1978 by Robert A. Miller, who chose the name to match his initials. Robert broke ground on the first building in Stafford, TX, just southwest of Houston. At the time, RAM was operating strictly as a distributor for Mayfair Windows. As we grew, we began to manufacture our own line of aluminum windows. As our skills and craftsmanship in window manufacturing evolved, the demand for our own products soon eclipsed our name in the distribution business.

 

In 1990, RAM’s growth story continued with the acquisition of Louver Lock Windows. Mr. Miller retired in the early 2000s and his son, Rob Miller, began managing the company. He quickly implemented changes in the company that continue to shape us today. In 2002, RAM switched to thermally broken window frames and double-pane glass, which were necessary to meet evolving energy codes. In 2004, RAM added a key product line for of high-end residential sliding door and wall systems.

 

In November of 2007, RAM Window was purchased from the Miller family with the goal of creating a platform for expanding the product lines, entering into new market segments, and focusing on supplying whole house packages with high quality window products.

 

RAM leadership transitioned us into a “one-stop provider of every opening on the project.” Making this change has allowed us to follow our loyal customers into additional projects anywhere throughout the country.  We offer access to quality alternative product solutions through key partnerships with LaCantina, Sierra Pacifica and Ply Gem. Our flexibility allows us to cater to both moderate and high-end builders as well as commercial projects.

 

Today at RAM Windows & Doors, we pride ourselves as the market leader for window and door products in our region. We will continue to offer exceptional aluminum thermally broken window and door solutions for both the residential and commercial markets.
