This Independence Day, RAM celebrates American craftsmanship, freedom, and the beauty of home with custom aluminum windows and doors made right here in Texas.
When it comes to designing your home, the details matter, and window grids are one of those small touches that can make a big difference. Whether you’re going for classic charm, modern minimalism, or something in between, the right grid style can tie your whole look together. At RAM Windows & Doors, we offer a wide range of grid patterns to help you add personality, character, and just the right amount of flair to your windows and doors.
Classic and Classic Half
These grids offer clean, simple lines that work beautifully in a variety of homes from traditional to transitional styles. These grids are all about subtle sophistication. The full classic grid gives a uniform, balanced look across the windowpane, while the half version adds visual interest without dividing the entire window, making it great for front-facing windows or areas where you want to maintain a more open view. If you’re aiming for timeless and versatile, classic is a great go-to.
Colonial and Colonial Half
These grid styles are rooted in American architectural tradition. With evenly spaced vertical and horizontal bars, these grids create that iconic multi-pane look you often see in colonial, farmhouse, and craftsman homes. The half version maintains that charm but allows for a little more visibility, especially popular on larger window units. These styles bring structure, symmetry, and a strong sense of heritage to your space.
Prairie
These grids offer a more delicate design with horizontal and vertical bars that frame the perimeter of the glass, leaving the center pane unobstructed. This style originated with the Prairie School of architecture (think Frank Lloyd Wright) and works wonderfully in both traditional and modern homes. Prairie grids are perfect if you want to highlight clean geometry while keeping your views wide open.
Victorian and Diamond
For homes with a more decorative or historic aesthetic, the Victorian and Diamond grid styles add a touch of elegance and craftsmanship. Victorian grids feature intricate detailing that complements Queen Anne and other ornate architectural styles, while Diamond grids create a striking, crisscrossed pattern that instantly draws the eye. These styles are ideal for statement windows, entryways, or anywhere you want a touch of vintage charm.
Modern
On the other end of the spectrum, our Modern grid style is all about sleek, simple lines and understated design. It’s perfect for contemporary and mid-century modern homes where clean aesthetics and large glass areas take center stage. The modern grid offers just enough structure to add interest without interrupting your view or the minimalist flow of your space.
All grid styles are available in Simulated Divided Lite (SDL) bars applied to the glass surface, Grilles Between the Glass (GBGs) for easy cleaning, or a combination of both for visual depth and function. Choose from our popular patterns or work with our team to create a custom configuration that’s truly your own. No matter your style, RAM’s grid options are designed to bring beauty, personality, and purpose to every window and door.
